As we scale our creative content production and broaden our digital reach, we are looking for three (3) talented and passionate Videographers to join our dynamic team.

Position Overview

The Videographer role is ideal for individuals with a deep passion for visual storytelling, strong technical abilities in video capture and editing, and a creative eye for framing, lighting, and pacing. This role will be key to documenting productions, creating promotional content, and contributing to the State Theatre’s visual identity across all digital platforms.

Successful candidates will work closely with our Creative and Production teams to film, edit, and deliver a wide range of engaging multimedia content, from live performances to behind-the-scenes features and artist interviews.

Key Responsibilities

Film theatre productions, rehearsals, and promotional events on-site

Set up lighting, camera, and audio equipment for shoots

Capture high-quality video content that reflects artistic direction

Edit footage for promotional use across social media, web, and broadcast

Deliver short-form and long-form edits under deadline pressure

Archive video content according to institutional policies

Collaborate with Marketing, Production, and Artistic Directors

Stay up to date with industry trends, techniques, and storytelling formats

Ensure compliance with copyright, performance rights, and internal guidelines

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 / Matric

A relevant post-secondary qualification (e.g. Film & Television, Media Studies, Videography, Multimedia Production)

Certified copies of all qualifications must be submitted with your application

A minimum of 2 years’ experience in video production and editing

Proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, etc.)

Knowledge of DSLR/mirrorless cameras, audio gear, and lighting setups

Portfolio or demo reel showcasing previous video work (link or file submission preferred)

Strong understanding of composition, timing, and pacing in narrative editing

Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Ability to work evenings or weekends, as required by production schedules

Added Advantage

Experience filming live stage productions or theatrical performances

Animation/motion graphics experience (Adobe After Effects or similar)

Photography skills and photo editing knowledge

Understanding of social media video formatting (Instagram Reels, YouTube, etc.)

Bilingual or multilingual communication skills
