🎭 So You Wanna Be an Usher? The State Theatre is Hiring 35 New Faces!

The South African State Theatre – that big, fancy building in Pretoria where drama unfolds both on and off the stage – is opening its golden doors to the youth of Mzansi! That’s right – they’re on the hunt for 35 Ushers to join their squad for the next 3 years.

And before you panic – no, you don’t need a PhD in Shakespeare or ballet slippers. In fact, you don’t need any experience at all. Just bring your energy, your vibe, and your ability to not disappear when the audience needs directions in the dark. 😅

🎟️ But Wait — What is an Usher?

Picture this: You’re at a big concert or theatre show. You don’t know where to sit, how to behave, or what time the show starts. You look confused. Who saves the day?

The Usher! The superhero in black who knows the layout of the theatre like they know the taxi fare from PTA to Mabopane.

In South African terms? Ushering is like being that responsible cousin at the family function – making sure everyone finds a chair, no one brings in takeaways, and yes, helping your uncle find the toilet before he causes a scene. 😅
