First National Bank (FNB), one of South Africa’s leading financial institutions, is offering a unique opportunity for young, unemployed South Africans to gain work experience through its FirstJob programme. This 12-month learnership is your gateway to career development, hands-on experience, and potential employment in the banking sector.

📌 What is a Learnership?

A learnership is a structured learning programme that combines theoretical training with practical on-the-job experience. Participants earn a monthly stipend while gaining nationally recognized qualifications and valuable professional exposure.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

  • Be aged between 18 – 34 years
  • Hold South African citizenship
  • Have at least a Matric certificate (NQF 4); NQF 5–6 qualifications are welcome
  • Currently unemployed for the past 6 months
  • Not enrolled in any academic institution
  • Have little or no work experience (less than 12 months)
  • This must be your first job experience
  • Must not have participated in FirstRand's FirstJob programme or worked for the group before
  • Proficient in English
  • No criminal record or blacklisting
  • Fully committed to a 12-month learnership
